Established in 1992 Gilbert Architects aspired to offer 3D imaging (sketches & perspectives) for any project undertaken, in the belief that only through experiencing a space or construct in 3D could it be accurately assessed. Background experience using MicroStation CAD software since 1992, offered an early insight into 3D CAD possibilities that enabled GA to begin developing 3D computer generated models of projects in1994.

Opportunities afforded by the BIM software products now available, GA can offer this option to new clients, a significant step forward as it not only relates to building appearance, but performance. Experience has taught that it is an excellent thing to have a perfectly detailed ‘virtual’ 3D building, before the Contractor commences on site.

Our original marketing strategy aimed to convince clients of the importance of good design, as it would add market & amenity value. This approach has been supplemented by the increased necessity for people to focus on the efficiencies & certainties offered by a more fully sustainable building. GA seeks to specialise in providing & improving on design services for sustainable and self-sufficient buildings. To date GA have completed several BER ‘A’ rated projects.
